News That May Not MatterThis is just where I will keep you updated on why the site hasn't been updated or keep you updated about the site being updated. Don't be confused, just don't worry about it.
Swollen Ankle.
I managed to mangle my left ankle skating a really fun spot in the homeland on Tuesday. It was a real disappointment since I was trying to get a sizable amount of photos for the week I was here, but when I can't walk, that complicates things a bit. I did manage to get a few, it might be some time before I get them up though. I'm moving in the next month, not out, but around the city to a newer and better location so this too might prolong the progress of this website. Also, I hope some of you folks were able to make it out to The Fofa Video premiere. It went very well and the video is insane. If you would like to get your hand on a copy, shoot me an e-mail and I'll try to get things going for you. The cost is $10 which is dirt cheap for an independent movie. I think it is also for sale at Ronin Skateshop in Rocklin, CA. Get a copy! Cheers.

I Still Care
It has been long over due, but
I managed to get a few photos up. Yeah, you might be disappointed
with the amount I put up, but you'll get over it soon enough. Being
a full-time student has made itself more apparent than ever; 5 more
weeks until liberation. You might have also noticed that I moved the
'News' section to its own page. I felt that putting it on the front
slightly took away from the main point of the site (the photos). A lot has been going on, and by a lot I mean not a lot of skating. But I was able to attend Official's Skate For Money contest held last Sunday In Sacramento's beautiful South Side Park. I would also like a moment to thank 48blocks.com for putting up a couple of the sequences I captured; I guess 5fps can come in hand. Cheers.

Busy? Lazy?
It rained quite a bit a few weeks ago and school has reintroduced itself, so not much photography has been going down. The ledges by my place did have their ground repaved, which makes for a wonderful spot to go to on the weekdays. And I'm sorry, but I'm totally lagging on getting my slides from Costa Rica scanned and up. Maybe next time I update I'll have something for you...
Cheers.

Back In San Francisco
Two weeks in Costa Rica went by very quickly; I saw a lot of interesting places and met some interesting people. The flora and fauna are just amazing to see in person and the beaches were a nice change to the frigid waters of Ocean Beach. The trip made me realize how valuable knowledge of another language is. For two weeks all I said was "bueno?" and "cuanto cuesta?" But I did get some photos and my new lens really proved useful. I still have some of the rolls to develop and will be putting up a few of those in the near future. Also, I spent a small portion of this month in Fair Oaks. Opportunities to shoot really came through last week and I was able to get more photos than I expected. All in all this has been quite an eventful winter break. Oh, and if you ever go to Costa Rica or anywhere close to the equator, make sure you wear that bug spray. They'll getchya.
Cheers.

I Don't Speak Spanish
Well the semester is slowly coming to an end and finals are coming up so let's hope I make it. Some updates, I put a few of the photos from New York up so check it out. Also, I'm leaving for Costa Rica in a couple weeks so I'm getting ready for that (need to pick up a Spanish phrase book). I just purchased a 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 Macro for my FM2 and am about to get a grip of print and slide film for it. I hope to get some great shots especially since I have never taken pictures in a tropical region. Oh an I was excited to learn that I was cited as an honorable mention in Mosaic Globe's most recent contest in the photography category. The first place winner's photos are just stunning, check them out http://nanditaskripanidhi.mosaicglobe.com/ My prize was an upgraded account so it's real nice to have more than 5 pages now which has let me add links and contact pages. Cheers.

Back From NY.
People always seem to discuss the similarities of San Francisco to New York and after my brief time in the east, I have concluded that there aren't many. New York is hectic; from quartets on the F train asking for some change to a Dominican roach coach that sells pig ears from 11pm to 6am in Washington Heights, these are not things I have come close to experiencing in San Francisco(if you have please let me know). But it is an amazing city nonetheless. I ate some of the best food in my life and met some interesting people. And I would also like to say that the stereotype of the rude New Yorker is only that, a stereotype. Everybody I encountered was very friendly and pleasant(with the exception of the guy with dreads doing track stands behind the counter at the WESC store in SoHo who thought he was so cool because he was watching the MASHSF video. Get off your high horse.) I took my Nikon and my Canon but mainly stuck with the Nikon. Its nice being forced to use only one lens(28mm 2.8) because then you really have to think about composition. So I have a few rolls to develop and hope they come out well and it got pretty tough not using a flash and tripod in the latter hours of the day. Also, If you did not notice in the "About Me" section I have declared my photos to be up for sale. In all honesty, I never thought about selling these but thought if someone is down to buy, I'm down to sell. Cheers.

Check In.
Went shooting with my friend Daynin last week, got one of him but he couldn't quite ride away from it. Better luck next time. I'm off to New York tomorrow at the crack of dawn so I hope to get some good cliche photos of the Big Apple. Check back in a week. Cheers.

A Different Type of Rolling
James, Lexo, Chris, and Jesse paid me a visit this weekend and our neighbors happen to have thrown a very large party that got out of hand. I got one photo of skateboarding and a few of the party. Keep checking on updates in the "Humans" section for those. Oh, and listen to Wooden Shjips. Trust me. Cheers.

Midterms...
...suck. Not much skating not much photo taking has been going down as of late. But as soon as a I finish this roll in my FM2 I'll put some up from it. I don't really know how they will turn out because manual focus is so annoying when you're trying to take a photo quickly, perfect example is when an overweight middle aged women playing a guitar covering Bob Dylan is yelling at you not to take her photo unless you hand over a five dollar bill. I really hope that one comes out. Oh and I don't know if any of you enjoy listening to Broken Social Scene but Kevin Drew's Spirit If... is well worth a listen, maybe even two. Cheers.
