I have had several people come up to me ask, that if I had time, if I could show them how to use their cameras.  After a couple successful "students", it's come to my attention that maybe I should offer it to anyone who is interested and could use the instruction.  I see a lot of people shooting with SLRs but then I get a closer look and I see they're mostly shooting in Automatic mode.  As quick as the digital format has been adopted by the masses, film and general photo knowledge has been ignored and even forgotten.

Maybe you're a student who received a camera as a gift and just are not sure how to use it, a grandson or granddaughter who inherited a beautiful Rollieflex or maybe you are a hardworking professional that doesn't have a lot of time to figure out that your Canon 30D does have a depth of field preview button.  Whatever the case may be, I would like to help you. I'm assuming if you're on the this page, you have already looked around the site and can see that while I'm not by title a professional I am someone who is passionate about what he does (Thats why they call them passions!).

They are called FUNdamentals for a reason.  Photography is meant to be an enjoyable activity and the more you know about your tools the more fun you can have.  My services are intended for beginners and new comers and can help you with your film or digital cameras.

What you get: One on one, I will meet you at location convenient to you; maybe at your home, in a park, at a cafe anywhere you feel comfortable.  From there I will see what exactly you are already familiar with then try to focus on the aspects you need more clarification in. What is an f/stop?  What else does the f/stop do for my photos? What is considered a slow shutter speed? After some "classroom" discussion a walk to a new location might be in order to practice your newly aquired knowledge. Most sessions will probably run 2-3 hours.
